So we’re finally coming out with it and putting the rumors to rest. Mission Loc@l is starting a new fashion feature . But she’s not an undergraduate as some have reported. It’s Mission Loc@l’s Shalwah Evans, a denizen of Brooklyn who knows more about styles, trends and asking for bargains than anyone we know. How do you do it? You just ask, she says, explaining that she ALWAYS asks for a discount.
But no one is spotting fashion like the Mission Loc@l reporters tweeting from the Webbys in New York City. Yep, the Webby award ceremony is happening tonight, and everyone is dressed up and ready to accept their awards. Hélène Goupil has already spotted a few A-listers in the crowd. And if you’re sick of talking fashion and celebrities for the day head to Oz, a new smoking lounge on 22nd Street (no le smoking required). The two day old shop opens around 11 a.m. “or when they wake up” said the clerk, and closes at 3 or 4 a.m. So if you’re in the mood for some Sex on the Beach hookah and coffee but not from nearby Revolution cafe (for the latter) pay Oz a visit. Hookah flavors are $10, and they do mixes upon request.
And when you’re done getting your flavored tobacco fix, head to Intersection for the Arts gallery, opened from 12 noon to 6 p.m. this week. The benefit art auction takes place this Saturday at 7 p.m. Get a jumpstart on the silent auction competition!
